Generic Imitrex
(Generic name: Sumatriptan)
Drug Uses
Imitrex is used in the treatment
of relieving symptoms caused by migraine headaches.
How Taken
Imitrex should be taken when signs of migraine first start to appear.
If no relief is gained after 1st dosage your physician may prescribe another
dosage to be taken after two hours of the first dosage.
Warnings & Precautions
Notify your physician of any allergies you might have.
List all your medication whether prescription or a nonprescription at the
physicians, even vitamins.
Missed Dose
Routine use of Imitrex is not needed or prescribed.
It is only used for relief from migraine symptoms when they start to occur.
Imitrex - Possible Side Effects
Drowsiness, diarrhea, feeling tingly, stomach upset, nose irritation, cramps of stomach,
flushing, dizziness and warm or heavy feelings.
Storage
Imitrex should be kept in its original container with lid closed tightly in room
temperature and out of pets or children’s reach.
Overdose Imitrex
Call 911 and go to the nearest medical emergency facility for immediate treatment if Imitrex overdose is suspected.
More Information
In a 24 hour period never take over 200 mg of Imitrex. Directions should be followed exactly as prescribed.
Use a glass of fluid or water when taking
Imitrex dosage.
