Levothroid, Synthroid Uses
Levothroid is used in the treatment
of hypothyroidism and in the prevention and treatment of goiter.
How Taken
Dosage directions should be followed as prescribed. Before meals about 30 minutes on empty stomach is best.
Levothroid Precautions
Levothroid is safe to use when pregnant, your physician should be told the dosage may need to be changed.
This medication should not be taken for treatment of weight gain or obesity.
Missed Dose
Take missed dose when it is remembered. Never take an extra dose to make up for the missed dose.
Levothroid Side Effects
Headache, hair loss mildly and changes in your weight are possible side effects of Levothroid.
Storage
Keep Levothroid room temperature far from moisture or heat.
Overdose
Call for emergency medical care immediately if an overdose is suspected.
More Information
Avoid walnuts, foods high in fiber, soy infant formula and cotton seed meal as these foods can lessen
the effects of Levothroid.
Any over the counter medications, minerals, vitamins, herbs or other
prescribed medicine from a different physician should be gone over by physician prescribing the
Levothroid for you before taking together, as complications could happen from their mixing.
