Ponstel Uses
Ponstel (Mefenamic Acid) is used in reducing pain that is caused by certain conditions including menstrual.
It is in a drug group called non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
How Taken
Ponstel should only be taken as prescribed with a glass full of water or if upset stomach
occurs taken with any food or glass of milk.
Ponstel Warnings
Drinking over three alcoholic beverages a day can increase the risk of stomach bleeding
while on Ponstel and should be avoided. This medication is usually used for short term treatment only.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dosage of Ponstel as soon as remembered. If it is almost time for your
next regular dose then skip the missed dose.
Ponstel Side Effects
Gas, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, dizziness, headache or depression
are all possible side effects of Ponstel.
Storage
Keep Ponstel at room temperature far from heat or moisture.
Overdose
If an overdose is suspected on Ponstel call for emergency medical care immediately.
More Information
Do not take other non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication while on
Ponstel or Aspirin, Advil, diuretics, steroids, oral diabetes medicine,
Lithium or anticoagulants without discussing with your physician first.
