Prozac Uses
Generic Prozac (Fluoxetine) is used to
treat major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and chronic pain.
How Taken
Adults should take 20mg per day in the morning with gradual increases up to 80 mg per day.
Warnings & Precautions
Generic Prozac may cause adverse reactions in those patients over the age of 65 due
to an already slowing metabolism. Use caution when driving or engaging in hazardous
activity until it is determined how the medication will affect you.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip
the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Agitation, shaking, difficulty breathing, rash, hives, itching, joint or muscle pain,
chills or fever are serious side effects and should be reported to your doctor.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Overdose Prozac
Symptoms of an overdose include agitation, excitability, severe nausea, vomiting and seizures.
Seek medical attention immediately.
More Information
Generic Prozac may interact negatively with other medications. Tell your doctor
if you are taking caffeine, oral anticoagulants, central nervous system, depressants,
lithium, dextromethorphan, or triptophan.
