Reglan Uses
Generic Reglan (Metoclopramide)
is used to help food pass through the digestive system.
Also used to treat heartburn in those patients suffering from gastro esophageal reflux,
Generic Reglan is taken as therapy for a short period of time.
How Taken
Adults should take Generic Reglan approximately one half hour before meals.
For treatment of heartburn, Generic Reglan should be taken only at certain times of
the day so consult your doctor and follow his instructions.
Reglan Precautions
Generic Reglan should not be taken by those patients suffering with an obstruction,
perforation or other irritation of the stomach or small intestines. Generic Reglan should
also not be taken by patients with epilepsy.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the
missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose.
Reglan Side Effects
Possible side effects of Reglan
(Metoclopramide) may include fatigue and drowsiness. Marked increase in involuntary
movements of the face, mouth, tongue or jaw has been reported in those patients over the age of 65.
Adults and children may also be subject to these side effects; however insomnia and agitation with
anxiety accompany these symptoms. After the first week of treatment, these symptoms typically diminish.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Reglan Overdose
As with any medication taken in excess, serious consequences may occur. If you suspect an overdose,
contact the poison control center or emergency medical services closest to you immediately.

Generic Reglan has been associated with mild to sever depression; therefore, tell your doctor if you
experience this as Generic Reglan may not be the best treatment option for your situation.
