(Generic name: Itraconazole)
Sporanox: Drug Uses
Generic Sporanox (Itraconazole) is used to treat serious fungal infections occurring in
the lungs and other parts of the body. These infections may occur in patients who do not
have other illnesses, although they frequently occur in patients with weakened immune systems.
Sporanox: How Taken
Adults and teenagers 16 and older should take 200 to 400mg taken once a day.
Children under age 16 should consult a doctor for the recommended dose.
Sporanox: Warnings, Precautions
Adverse reactions may be more likely and more severe in older patients. Do not drive or
engage in hazardous work until it is determined how this drug will affect you.
Avoid alcohol while taking Generic Sporanox.
Sporanox: Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. This will help keep a constant level of
medication in your system. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed
dose and resume a regular dosing schedule. Do not double the next dose.
Sporanox: Possible Side Effects
Skin rash or itching, fever or chills are side effects and should be reported to
your doctor immediately. NO common side effects have been reported while taking Generic Sporanox.

Store in a tightly sealed container away from direct light and extremes in temperature.

An overdose is unlikely while taking Generic Sporanox.

Take this medicine with food. Maintain your usual food and fluid intake. Patients with
immune system diseases are often weakened by their illness, by medication, or by
other treatments, and may be unable to consume adequate amounts of nutritious food.
Use liquid supplements if this occurs.
