Generic Vermox
(Generic name: Mebendazole)
Vermox (Mebendazole) Uses
Generic Vermox (Mebendazole) is used
to treat various intestinal roundworm infections
including ascariasis, hookworm infection, trichuriasis and enterobiases or pinkworm infections.
It may be used to treat nonintestinal infections or more than one worm infection at a time.
How Taken
For roundworm, hookworm and whipworms, adults should take 100mg twice per
day in the morning and in the evening for three days.
Treatment may be repeated in two to three weeks.
Vermox Precautions
Adverse reactions may be more likely or more severe in older patients.
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until it is determined how the medication
will affect you. Avoid alcohol while fighting any infection.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Generic Vermox, take it as soon as you remember, unless
it’s close to the next scheduled dose. In this case, skip the missed
dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.
Vermox Side Effects
Fever, sore throat, skin rash or itching with unusual fatigue are side effects
and should be reported to your doctor right away.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light.
Vermox Overdose
Gastrointestinal upset lasting several hours; possible respiratory arrest or
seizures may indicate on overdose. Seek medical treatment immediately.
More Information
For pinworm infection, clothing, bedding, and towels should be washed daily.
All members of the family may have to be treated to eradicate the infestation.
A second treatment for all household members may be necessary after two or three weeks.
All bedding and night clothes should be washed after treatment.
