(Generic name: Cetirizine)
Zyrtec Uses
Generic Zyrtec (Cetirizine) is used to treat symptomatic
relief of seasonal allergies
including itchy skin and chronic hives.
How Taken
Adults and children over the age of 12 should take 5 to 10mg once a day.
Do not increase the dosage to obtain quicker relief.
Zyrtec Precautions
Dosages may need to be adjusted in older patients as well as those with
impaired kidney functions.
Do not drive or engage in hazardous work until
you determine how the drug will affect you. Avoid alcohol since it can
magnify the effects of drowsiness and fatigue.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is close to
time for your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the dose and resume
your regular dosage schedule. Do not double the next dose.
Zyrtec Side Effects
Common Zyrtec side effects are drowsiness, fatigue, headache and dry mouth.
In some instances nausea and vomiting may occur.
Report these symptoms to your doctor immediately.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
