Generic Accupril
(Generic name: Quinapril)
Drug Uses
Generic Accupril is prescribed to control high blood pressure; to treat congestive heart failure and to
treat patients with left ventricular dysfunction.
This drug is also effective in minimizing further kidney damage in diabetics with mild kidney disease.
How Taken
10mg once a day is a usual dose of Accupril.
This dose may be increased by your doctor to 20 to 80mg a day taken in one or two doses divided equally.
Warnings/Precautions
Do not consume alcohol while taking this drug since it may increase the effect of the drug and cause an excessive
drop in blood pressure.

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is near your next dose.
In this case, skip the missed does and resume your normal schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Fever, chills, sore throat and hoarseness, sudden difficulty breathing or swallowing,
selling of the face, mouth or extremities, impaired kidney function (ankle swelling, decrease urination)
confusion, yellow discoloration of the eyes or skin, intense itching, chest pain or palpitations,
and abdominal pain are considered serious side effects. Seek medical treatment immediately.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Overdose
No cases of an overdose have been reported.

Take Accupril on an empty stomach about one hour before eating.
