(Generic name: Spironolactone)
Aldactone Uses
Generic Aldactone is used as an adjunctive
(supplementary) treatment with other diuretics to increase the excretion of sodium and water in the urine while
conserving potassium.
How Taken
Adults should take 100mg to 400mg per day in 2 to 4 doses.
Children up to 2.2lbs of body weight should take 1 to3 mg in 1 to 4 doses per day.
Warnings and Precautions
The use of Generic Aldactone should not impair your ability to function normally.
The decision to stop taking the drug should be made by your doctor.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is near your next dose.
In this case, skip the missed does and resume your normal schedule.
Generic Aldactone - Side Effects
Skin rash or itching, shortness of breath, cough or hoarseness, fever or chills, pain in lower back or side,
painful or difficult urination are serious. They should be reported to your doctor.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Aldactone Overdose
Acute electrolyte imbalance causing central nervous system disturbances indicate an overdose.
Seek medical treatment at once.

Avoid consuming large servings of high-potassium foods, which include bananas, melons, prunes,
citrus fruits and juices, avocados, potatoes, nuts, baked beans brussell sprouts and skim milk.
