
Generic Biaxin
(Generic name: Clarithromycin)
Drug Uses
Generic Biaxin is prescribed to prevent or relive
symptoms of hay fever and other allergies, and for itching skin and hives.
How Taken
Adults and teenagers should take 1.34mg twice daily or 2.68mg one to three times per day.
Warnings/Precautions
The use of Biaxin may impair your ability to perform certain tasks safely.
Do not drive or engage in operating machinery until it is determined how you will react to Biaxin.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless the next scheduled dose is within the next two hours.
If so, do not take the missed dose. Skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
Do not double the next dose.
Possible Side Effects
Confusion, hallucinations, convulsions, blurred vision and difficulty urinating are all considered serious
side effects and should be reported to your doctor immediately.
Drowsiness, nausea, thickening of mucus, dry mouth, nose and throat, dizziness, and disturbed coordination
are common side effects.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Overdose
Severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain all indicate that an overdose may have been ingested.
Seek medical treatment at once and notify your doctor.
More Information
This drug should not be taken by patients known to have had prior allergic reactions to erythromycins
or other antibiotics.
