Generic Celebrex
(Generic name: Celecoxib)
Celebrex (Celecoxib) Uses
Generic Celebrex is used for the relief of pain, fever, swelling and tenderness caused by osteoarthritis,
and rheumatoid arthritis.
How Taken
Celebrex should be started and used on the lowest possible dose.
For osteoarthritis, the dose is usually 100mg twice per day or 200mg once per day.
For rheumatoid arthritis, the usual dose is 100 or 200mg twice a day.
Warnings and Precautions
Generic Celebrex is unlike other NSAIDs in that Celebrex doesn't interfere with the function of the blood platelets
and therefore does not reduce clotting; leading to increased bleeding. However, allergic reactions, including rash,
itching and difficulty breathing have been reported.
Missed Dose
If a dose is missed on one full day, two doses should not be taken the next day; just skip the missed dose and
resume a normal dosing schedule the next day.
Side Effects
Generic Celebrex may cause headache, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, diarrhea, nausea, flatulence and insomnia.
More serious side effects associated with Celebrex are kidney failure, fainting, heart failure, aggravation
of hypertension, blurred vision, anxiety, photosensitivity, weight gain, water retention and flu-like symptoms
including drowsiness and weakness.
Storage
Tablets should be stored at room temperature and kept away from direct heat and light.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
