Generic Diflucan
(Generic name: Fluconazole)
Drug Uses
Generic Diflucan is used to treat fungal infections of the mouth and throat, of the vagina or
throughout the body as well as meningitis. It is also used to treat AIDS-related fungal infections.
How Taken
For treatment of a fungal infection, 200 to 400mg one the first day and then 400mg once a day.
For treatment of a yeast infection, one dose of 150mg is generally prescribed.
Dosages in older patients with reduced kidney function may need to be lowered.
Warnings
When taken as prescribed, Generic Diflucan should
not interfere with your daily routine.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Diflucan, take it as soon as you remember, unless it’s time for your next schedule dose.
In this case, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Skin rash or itching, fever or chills are considered serious side effects and should be reported to your
doctor immediately.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light.
Keep the liquid forms in a refrigerator, but do not allow them to freeze.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported.
