Generic Flagyl Uses
Generic Flagyl is used to treat numerous bacterial infections, including certain sexually transmitted diseases,
gynecological infections, amebiasis, brain abscess of meningitis, pneumonia or other lung infections,
blood poisoning, bone and joint infections, infections of the internal organs and skin infections.
How Taken
The dose varies greatly depending upon many factors including the disorder being treated,
the patient’s age, weight and general state of health and the form of drug prescribed.
Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage regimen for you.
Warnings Generic Flagyl
Do not drive or engage in dangerous activity until it is determined how Generic Flagyl will affect you.
A serious reaction including possible flushing, rapid heartbeat, and nausea and vomiting may occur if alcohol
is consumed while taking Generic Flagyl. Alcohol containing medications should also be carefully avoided as
they can cause the same reaction.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is near the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose
and resume your regular dosage schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Flagyl in oral forms can cause pain, tingling, numbness or weakness in hands or feet and convulsions.
The Vagina gel can cause vaginal itching, pain during intercourse, thick, white vaginal discharge, pain or
cramping of the stomach, irritation of sexual partner’s penis, burning urination, more frequent urination, redness,
stinging or itching of the genital area. Seek medical treatment as soon as possible.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light. Do not refrigerate liquid forms.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported.
